Meet John Carter!

A rising young talent from Mississippi, John Carter Ballard is quickly making a name for himself with his powerful voice, stage presence, and heart for community. 

He regularly performs at churches, nursing homes, assisted living facilities,  private functions, restaurants, and various fairs and festivals, and recently to stadium crowds with upwards to 15 thousand in attendance.   His music resonates with audiences of all ages.

John Cater was featured at the Jimmie Rodgers Festival in 2025. and also earned finalist honors in 4-H Junior Idol. Representing the state of Mississippi, he competed in the Junior Division of the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Anthem Competition.

He has been honored to perform the National Anthem at multiple major collegiate sporting events.

Expanding his talents beyond music, he portrayed Young Tarzan in Tarzan the Musical at the Ellis Theater, which is a busy feature of Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music in Philadelphia. MS. 

This year he is playing the character Simba in “The Lion King Kids”at the theater. 

John Carter continues to connect with audiences both on stage and through social media. Passionate, driven, and dedicated to sharing his gift, he is a young artist to watch.

He is currently working on his first recording project through producer Tammy Dunaway of Dunaway Music LLC and the newly formed Firefly Records dedicated to developing children artists with musical gifts.   

The label is dedicated to help launch younger artists into an emerging genre that gives them opportunities to reach a wider audience.
